Weekly Question #10: Little Girl

Monday, July 28, 2008

This week, Miss Julie has a different type of question for us. It took me a long time to write answer her question because this photo made me think.

I want to know your thoughts about this photo. What can you say about this?

My Thoughts:
When I saw this picture the song Batang-Bata by the Apo Hiking Society immediately came into mind. A little girl; so innocent, walking down the streets of her neighborhood in her undies is just so appalling. Innocent little girls should be protected from all the evils of the world. There are a lot of evil men and women out to do wrong on little children. Children are usually the victims of evil crimes. It is just so heart wrenching to discover how crazy our world has become. Traipsing about in nothing but her undies is a invitation, crazies are looking for, no matter how innocent it may seem.
A lot of children are sadly corrupted at an early age because of neglect and lack of guidance. This photo speaks more about the family values of this family. It doesn't matter that they are poor and cannot adequately clothe their children; what matters is that their children are protected and guided so that they can make a better and brighter future for themselves.

I can;t blame poverty on this. Kc yung mga parents, they can work nman. Pero they let kids to work for them. So expose sila sa crimes. Nakakalungkot pero this our situation today. haaay...

I agree about the evil minds. Come to think of it, relatives can't even be trusted with the care of these children.

We can not tell them that what they are doing is "wrong" since we may be branded as "pakialamera". But of course, we just don't want them to endanger themselves.

When I see kids like that, sometimes out playing in the streets, I tell them to go home. I know, it sounds a bit pompous but I don't want them to encounter bad people.

Thanks for playing, Z :)
